Department of Business Administration
The Department of Business Administration, under the School of Business at North East University Bangladesh, has been a leading academic unit of the university since its establishment in 2012. As the largest department, it is dedicated to nurturing future business leaders and entrepreneurs by equipping students with strong managerial, analytical, and communication skills essential for success in today’s competitive global arena.
The department currently offers three academic programs: Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), MBA (for BBA Graduates), and MBA (for Non-BBA Graduates). The BBA program is a 141-credit degree with majors in Accounting and Information Systems, Finance and Banking, Management, Human Resource Management, and Marketing. The MBA (for BBA Graduates) is a 48-credit program, while the MBA (for Non-BBA Graduates) is a 64-credit program offering concentrations in Accounting and Information Systems, Finance, Banking and Insurance, Management, Human Resource Management, and Marketing. All programs strictly follow the Bangladesh National Qualifications Framework (BNQF) and the guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC).
The academic year is organized into two semesters—Spring (January–June) and Fall (July–December)—each lasting six months. The curriculum blends theoretical knowledge with practical learning through case studies, internships, research projects, industry visits, and professional development activities.
With a team of highly qualified faculty members, many with international exposure and corporate expertise, along with strong industry collaboration and placement support, the department ensures holistic student development. Graduates of the department pursue careers across diverse sectors, including banking, finance, FMCG, consultancy, tourism, IT, digital marketing, and entrepreneurship, making valuable contributions both nationally and globally.
