Graduate Programs
Admission Requirements for Graduate Programs:
The minimum qualifications for admission to Graduate programs are:
MBA Program:
- A four-year Bachelor or a three-year Honors/Pass degree or a Master’s degree in any discipline
- At least Second Class/GPA 2.5 in S.S.C and H.S.C examinations each or an aggregate of 6.0 if in one of the examinations GPA is 2.0.
- At least CGPA of 2.0 or equivalent on a 4.0 point scale in Honors/Degree Pass level examination.
Course Waiver in MBA Program:
Applicants may be waived a maximum of 24 credits from the foundation level courses of the program who has completed the same (with at least 70% of identical contents) and got the letter grade of ‘B-’ (2.75) or higher or 50% marks or above at his/her undergraduate degree from any recognized educational institution. After Admission, the applicant must apply addressing the Head of the Department with the academic transcript of that institution. The equivalence committee of the concerned Department will make the course waiver decisions on a case-by-case basis where the quality and standard of the institution and/or academic program will be taken into account.
Executive MBA Program:
- A four-year Bachelor or a three-year Honors/Pass degree or a two-year Pass degree or a Master’s degree in any discipline
- At least Second Class/GPA 2.5 in S.S.C and H.S.C examinations each or an aggregate of 6.0 if in one of the examinations GPA is 2.0.
- At least CGPA of 2.0 or equivalent on a 4.0 point scale in Honors/Degree Pass level exam.
- At least two years of continuous work experience as Executive/Officer.
Course Waiver in EMBA Program:
Applicants may be waived a maximum of 12 credits from the foundation level courses of the program who has completed the same (with at least 70% of identical contents) and got the letter grade of ‘B-’ (2.75) or higher or 50% marks or above at his/her undergraduate degree from any recognized educational institution. After Admission, the applicant must apply addressing the Head of the Department with the academic transcript of that institution. The equivalence committee of the concerned Department will make the course waiver decisions on a case-by-case basis where the quality and standard of the institution and/or academic program will be taken into account.
Master in Public Health:
- MBBS, BDS or equivalent professional bachelor degree in Alternate medicine (Physiotherapy, Homeopathy) from any recognized national and Overseas University.
- in Nursing from government recognized institutes.
- Any health related 4 years diploma (such as Nursing Diploma, Diploma from MATS) after SSC or equivalent certificate with a bachelor degree of 2 years duration or more.
- Three-year/four-year bachelors' degree with honors in social sciences, sciences or Arts subjects or Degree (pass) and science subjects or Degree (Passed) with at least CGPA of 2.0 or equivalent on a 4.0 point scale in Honors/Pass level exam and with a minimum two years job experience in health related sectors.
Master in Development Studies:
- A four-year Bachelor or a three-year Honors/Pass degree or a Master’s degree in any relevant discipline.
- Students, who have graduation in two-year Pass degree in relevant discipline with at least 2 (two) years of work experience in relevant fields are also eligible for the program.
- At least Second Class/GPA 2.5 in S.S.C and H.S.C examinations each or an aggregate of 6.0 if in one of the examinations GPA is 2.0.
- At least CGPA of 2.0 or equivalent on a 4.0 point scale in Honors/Pass level exam.
- Degree should be in Economics, Business, Environmental Studies, Social Welfare, Sociology, Anthropology, Political Science, Public administration or other related subjects from any recognized university.
Course Waiver in Master in Development Studies:
A Student can get a maximum waiver of 9 Credits (3 Courses) by the department if similar (with at least 70% of identical contents) courses were completed from any recognized educational institution. In this case contents and standards of those courses shall be examined by the equivalence committee of the department.
Master of Arts in English (Final-One year Program)
- Minimum requirements of this program for the students is a 4 Year B. A. (Honors) degree in English, and
- The students who have a 3 Year B. A. (Honors) degree in English are also eligible, subject to the completion of a foundation Semester Course at NEUB (total 1 year 4 months Program)
- These students should have at least; (a) second Class/GPA 2.5 in S.S.C and H.S.C examinations each or an aggregate of 6.0 if in one of the examinations GPA is 2.0. (b) At least CGPA of 2.0 or equivalent on a 4.0 point scale in Honors/Pass level exam.
Master of Arts in English (Preliminary and Final)
- The minimum requirement for eligibility to seek admission into the program is a Bachelor degree or its equivalent in any field including Business, Engineering, Agriculture or Medicine.
- These students should have at least; (a) second Class/GPA 2.5 in S.S.C and H.S.C examinations each or an aggregate of 6.0 if in one of the examinations GPA is 2.0. (b) At least CGPA of 2.0 or equivalent on a 4.0 point scale in Honors/Pass level exam.
LL.M (One Year)
- This program is applicable for students who have completed their 4 year LL.B (Honors) degree from any recognized educational institution.
- At least Second Class/GPA 2.5 in S.S.C and H.S.C examinations each or an aggregate of 6.0 if in one of the examinations GPA is 2.0.
- At least CGPA of 2.0 or equivalent on a 4.0 point scale in Honors level exam.
LL.M (Two Year):
- The minimum requirement for eligibility to seek admission into the program is a 2 year LL.B (Pass) degree from any recognized educational institution.
- At least Second Class/GPA 2.5 in S.S.C and H.S.C examinations each or an aggregate of 6.0 if in one of the examinations GPA is 2.0.
- At least CGPA of 2.0 or equivalent on a 4.0 point scale in Honors/Pass level exam.
M.Sc. in Mathematics:
- A student who has been graduated on completion of 4 years B.Sc.(Hons.) program in Mathematics from any recognized university of Bangladesh will be eligible directly for admission to the program.
- A student who has graduated on completion of 3 years B.Sc.(Hons.) program in Mathematics or 3 years B.Sc. (Pass) program with Mathematics as a subject from Bangladesh National University or any Public or recognized Private University of Bangladesh has to complete a Preliminary Master of Science in Mathematics non-degree program of 37 credits (minimum) in 3 semesters (1 year) for getting eligible for admission to the M.Sc. Final program.
- Students who have graduated on completion of 3 years/4years B.A. (Hons.)/BSS (Hons.)/B.Sc. (Hons.) in a science subject other than Mathematics/B.Sc. Engineering in any subject, all with Mathematics courses in their undergraduate program from any public university, recognized private university or national university may be admitted for Mathematics preliminary and subsequently final program on completion of Graduate Diploma Courses (GDC) in the university. But they may be given waiver for the courses they have already completed.
- A student who has been graduated on completion of 2 years B.Sc./BA/BSS (Pass) program with Mathematics as a subject from Bangladesh National University or any Public or recognized Private University of Bangladesh has to complete Graduate Diploma Courses (GDC) before being eligible for M.Sc. (Preli) and subsequently M.Sc. (Final) program and will be given waiver for courses already done in their undergraduate level.
- A student on successful completion of a Graduate Diploma Program will be awarded a Graduate Diploma Certificate (GDC).
- A student graduated from an overseas university will be judged for an equivalent qualification for admission into the M.Sc. Final program.
Any problem or confusion relating to the degree or diploma obtained from abroad of any applicant for admission in the graduate programs or for other purposes will be referred to and resolved by the Degree Equivalence Committee of Bangladesh University Grants Commission (BUGC).
